Holmes Basketball Player Named First-Team All-American

GOODMAN, Miss.- Daryl Macon Jr. was one of ten young athletes named to the first team by the National Junior College Athletic Association. The freshman from Little Rock, Arkansas was a staple in the Bulldogs’ run to the NJCAA Elite 8 this past postseason, as well as leading them to Region XIII and North Division Champions while finishing second in the MACJC State Tournament.

Macon’s seasonal statistics total at 23 points per game, playing 32.6 minutes per game. He was 214-of-460 from the floor for a 46.5 percent average and was 79-of-214 from three-point range for a 36.9 percent average. He was also 230-of-260 from the free throw line for an 88.5 percent average.

As well as first team All-American, Macon also was the recipient of these awards: NJCAA All-Tournament Team, NJCAA Region XXIII Player of the Year and First Team All-State.
