CLARKSDALE Miss.–IF you’re paying someone to take care of your elderly mother or grandmother the last thing you’d expect them to do is hit them. In Clarksdale, Caralee Ann Unruh, 51, has been charged with hitting an elderly woman she was supposed to be caring for.
Unruh was arrested Wednesday by Norman Young, an investigator with the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Unit.
She faces a felony charge of simple assault of a person over 65, and could get five years if she is convicted, said Atty. Gen. Jim Hood. A news release from Hood’s office said Unruh is also accused of threatening the woman with further violence.
Unruh’s bond was set at $2,500.
