MADISON COUNTY, MISS— Mississippi Highway Patrol says Michael Harkins, 52, was hit and killed by a driver who then took off on Highway 43 in Madison County Sunday.
Harkins was struck by one vehicle while walking, but that driver left. Harkins was hit a second time by a Ford Explorer. The driver of the Explorer stopped and stayed with Harkins as he called police.
Mississippi Highway Patrol says there’s no description of the first vehicle that hit Harkins. If you have any information, call Crimestoppers.
