JACKSON, Miss.-The Hinds County website was hacked Wednesday morning.
The site had a picture of a masked man and skull with the message, “Hacked by Hamzah Uygun; F*** Israel & USA.”
The website was down around 9:15 Wednesday morning. The FBI was notified and the county’s website was back up within the next few hours.
Hamzah Uygun is a pro-Palestine digital group that has hacked websites before. In November, the group defaced the website of the United Nations and 120 other government sites.
County officials say they take the hack very seriously. Officials said their informational systems are fully operational again, and were not compromised.
