One juvenile of the three who escaped a youth detention center in Jackson has been captured while the other two remain at large.
Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones has confirmed that 16-year-old Robert Earl Smith, who broke out of the Henley-Young-Patton Juvenile Justice Center on Tuesday, June 27, was taken into custody in Yazoo City on Monday.
Smith is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the January death of William Doug Wood.
Escaped juvenile detainee, Robert Earl Smith, Jr. was taken into custody last night at a residence in Yazoo City by HCSO and the US Marshal Fugitive Task Force. HCSO is still searching for the other two escaped juveniles and assisting county officials with this investigation.

Smith, alongside 17-year-old Tayshom Holmes and 15-year-old Jashon Jones, injured another detainee and a guard in the process of escaping the detention facility.
The sheriff says deputies are continuing to search for the other two escapees.
