The Hinds County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the Nationwide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” enforcement campaign. Hinds County Sheriff, Victor Mason said in a statement that they want it to be a safe holiday season for everyone.
Deputies will be looking for impaired drivers, seat belt/child restraints, checking for driver’s license, and insurance violations.
“Be responsible, have a designated driver if you plan on drinking. Call a cab or an Uber before you get behind the wheel,” said Sheriff Mason.
The campaign will run from December 14, 2018, thru January 1, 2019, and will include high visibility saturation patrols and safety checkpoints throughout the county at various times.
