JACKSON, Miss.- A deputy’s granddaughter is safe after someone stole the car she was in from a daycare in Hinds County Friday.
4-year-old McKenzie’s aunt was dropping her own child off there and left the car running and the toddler in the back seat. According to Jackson Police Department Spokeswoman Colendula Green told the Clarion Ledger, when the aunt returned, the car was missing.
The car was found a short time later abandoned with McKenzie still inside crying.
The driver ditched the car and didn’t hurt the little girl. Police say the suspect was last seen wearing a black shirt and cap.
