Lows will be in the lower 70s.

In central Mississippi, partly sunny today with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning and afternoon. Highest temperatures will climb into the lower 90s and the heat index readings will be anywhere from 100 to 105. At night, mostly cloudy in the evening, then becoming partly cloudy. There is also a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms during the night. Lows will be in the lower to mid-70s.

In south Mississippi, partly sunny skies expected until late afternoon, then becoming cloudy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms is likely in the afternoon Locally, heavy rainfall is possible and highs will climb up into the lower 90s. Heat index readings will be around 101 to 106. In the evening, mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the evening, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after midnight. Lows will dip down into the mid-70s.
