High Bond for Man Accused of Shooting, Killing 4-year-old

COLUMBUS, Miss. –It will take a $1million bond for a Lowndes County man, accused of killing his girlfriend’s 4-year-old son, to immediately get out of jail.

Patrick Chambers, 27, is charged with the murder of Brayden Barksdale.  Police said the child was shot with a hunting rifle inside the home he and his mom shared with Chambers.  Barksdale was pronounced dead at the scene.

Chambers, who’s been in prison for burglary in North Dakota, is also charged with possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.  Bond on that charge is set at $10,000.

If Chambers is found guilty in the death of Barksdale, he could get life in prison.
