HOUSTON, Miss. – The Chickasaw County woman accused of abandoning her newborn baby has bonded out of jail.
Cora Watkins now has to be in court May 15 for a preliminary hearing. Investigators say Watkins left work in March, delivered her baby and then left him in a shed behind her mother’s home. The baby was found by some neighborhood kids who heard him crying. He’s ok and in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Human Services.
