TUPELO, Miss.–The weather could get a little rough, starting Wednesday afternoon, especially in north Mississippi. The culprit is a weak weather system, so don’t expect a widespread severe weather event.
“The atmosphere will be unstable. We expect numerous scattered thunderstorms to develop,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Jonathan Howell. “A few could approach severe limits, but it’s more typical of a summertime regime, where we get localized potential for some damaging winds and large hail.”
He said you shouldn’t expect a widespread severe weather event, but the potential is there for some rough storms.
That potential exists further south, too, but north Mississippi has the best chance.
