Spring break season has officially arrived in Mississippi with students from all grades poised to have a week off of school, and the Hattiesburg Zoo is inviting “staycationers” to take time for a fun-filled visit.
The zoo will be holding various spring break festivities from March 12-23. To begin the celebrations, the splash pad at the facility will be activated on March 12 and run until the end of the summer season.
According to zoo officials, this year’s spring break activities include games, animal encounters, crafts, and food and beverage specials. Bounce houses, scavenger hunts, and animal enrichment events will be available for spring breakers. The zoo’s professional staff members will be at various locations throughout the park to educate visitors through interactive displays.

Along with all the familiar animals like tigers, zebras, and alligators, visitors will have the chance to meet the zoo’s newest furry friends — Koni the skunk and Lulo the kinkajou.
Regular zoo admission prices apply, and annual passes can be used for spring break dates. Folks can purchase tickets in advance here. Tickets are available online until 9:00 a.m. on the day of your visit. After 9:00 a.m., ticket purchases can be made at the ticket booth.
