HATTIESBURG, Miss.- One of the Hattiesburg Zoo’s Chilean Flamingos was stolen and severely injured Monday morning.
The flamingo was found several miles from the Zoo and was returned in the morning, but had to be euthanized because it was so badly hurt.
The video surveillance posted to the Hattiesburg Zoo’s Facebook page shows four people inside the Zoo at approximately 1:08 a.m. Witnesses told the Zoo they saw a group of people scaling the Zoo fence around the same time early Tuesday morning, carrying what appeared to be a large bird.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Hattiesburg Zoo at 601-545-4576.
