JACKSON, Miss. — Debate over comprehensive immigration reform continues. While some republicans want the GOP to oppose it, former Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour is not one of them. That has been trending on the Drudge Report this week.
“If you want solution to immigration, its immigration reform. If you want to make sure that we have the talent labor in our country so that we can have the economic growth that we become accustom to over the past 50 years, immigration reform is part of the process,” said Barbour at a Bibles, Badges, and Business press conference in 2013.
Barbour is co-chairman of the Immigration Task Force at the Bipartisan Policy Center and according to GOP congressional staffers he has been one of the most aggressive behind the scenes lobbyist for an amnesty bill.
