JACKSON, Miss.- Habitat for Humanity has announced they will begin revamping Greenview Drive, an area deserving of some sprucing up, and transform it into a place for families to flourish.
The area being restored is half-mile long street with 69 residential lots, 48 of which are abandoned, derelict and substandard housing. Due to the areas lack of maintenance it causes worry for property value to decrease as well as the safety and well being of residents in surrounding areas.
Greenview Drive is is an ideal location for residents. It is close to hospitals, the interstate, and several colleges and universities. Habitat believes that they could see huge residential growth if they street is cleaned up and restored. They hope to see economic growth as well.
These projects are made possible by community stakeholders, including Habitat for Humanity Mississippi Capital Area, the City of Jackson, churches, corporations, businesses, financial institutions, and community donors and volunteers.
