DeKALB, Miss.–At least three women have been shot in Mississippi in the past week. One of those shootings involved a family member, while two other women were ambushed in an attempted robbery.
In DeKalb, in Kemper County, a woman had to be flown to the hospital via chopper after she was shot in the face Wednesday. Sheriff James Moore told TV station WTOK that her father-in-law admitted to being the shooter.
He said the woman’s two children were in the house when it happened. He didn’t discuss a reason or release the names of the woman or the shooter.
It was Monday when two women who worked at Wendy’s in Waynesboro were shot as they made the restaurant’s night deposit at the bank.
Police say the women were ambushed. The robber hid behind a bush and shot the women in their car. As of Thursday, the shooter had not been caught, but the women had both been released from the hospital.
