After a Gulfport woman made reported a false emergency for the second time in a day, she was arrested and charged with abuse of emergency 911.
On Sept. 6, Gulfport Police responded to a 911 call regarding a drive-by shooting, with the suspect allegedly being a Gulfport police officer.
The report turned out to be false and from a caller who had used a fictitious name. Upon further investigation, the caller was identified as 41-year-old Angela Maria Shavers — a habitual offender.
Shavers was convicted of her first abuse of emergency 911 offense earlier that same day. The investigation revealed that she allegedly made the second emergency call in retaliation against the police officer who had transported her to court for her first false 911 call offense.
The perpetrator has been transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $10,000 bond.
