JACKSON, Miss.–The “Greatest Show on Earth” has begun its “Circus Super Heroes” tour in Mississippi. The Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus opened Thursday night in the capital city and will make three more stops in the Magnolia State.
This year’s theme is “Circus Super Heroes” and the antics of acrobats, the shenanigans of clowns and the feats of camels and elephants promise to save the world from boredom.
The show welcomes “children of all ages” for a good time and thrills, like watching very well-balanced people ride bicycles on the high wire.
The show runs through Sunday at the Mississippi Coliseum, then moves to Southaven for a four-day run, starting Thursday March 27. Then, it’s on to Tupelo, beginning Thursday, April 3.
Skip down the road a few months and the circus will be back in Mississippi for a stint in Biloxi, starting July 3.
PETA has told News Mississippi they protest the circus, believing the animals in the acts are mistreated.
