UTICA, Miss.- Hinds Community College-Utica has been awarded a grant by the National Science Foundation.
The grant is worth nearly $400,000 and was announced by Congressman Bennie Thompson on Monday.
The money will go towards building the “Targeted Infusion Project.”
The goal in mind is to find and enroll students who are interested in pursuing “STEM.” (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics.) This project allows those students to quickly complete math courses to obtain an Associate’s Degree, and then go on to a 4-year institution.
The school received a total of $399,868 from the foundation.
