JACKSON, Miss.–Accountability ratings are in today for Mississippi schools and this year there were few surprises. But, one of the surprises was that only one district got a “F” rating. That was Hinds Agricultural, which closed in May.
The state’s graduation rate was 74.5 percent.
There were 19 “A” districts, 43 “B” districts, 48 “C” districts, and 39 “D” districts.
The results are still unofficial until the Board of Education meeting today.
These are the “A” districts:
• Amory School District
• Biloxi Public School District
• Booneville School District
• Clinton Public School District
• Corinth School District
• Oxford School District
• DeSoto County School District
• Enterprise School District
• Kosciusko School District
• Lamar County School District
• Long Beach School District
• Madison County School District
• Ocean Springs School District
• Pass Christian Public School District
• Petal School District
• Pontotoc City Schools
• Rankin County School District
• Union Public School District
• Webster County School District
IF your child’s school did worse this year than last year, they got to keep the better grade. That’s because this year is considered a “transitional” year because it’s the first using Common Core standards.
