COLUMBUS, Miss.–Apparently not everybody was having a great time at a graduation party Thursday night at the Columbus Fairgrounds. It was in the wee hours of Friday morning that the sound of gunshots shut down all the happiness, and now a man is dead.
The ID of the man killed had not been released as of Friday morning, but WCBI TV reported that two people were shot and one of them died at Baptist Memorial Golden Triangle.
This is what police and witnesses said went down. It was just after midnight when a fight broke out at the party. That’s when somebody pulled a gun and popped off shots. The man that died was hit in the neck and back. The man that lived was shot in the leg.
Police think the trigger man took off from the party, but left his vehicle. They were busy all night interviewing people who were at the party.
