JACKSON, Miss.- Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant signed an order on Monday that will allow all full-time military personnel to carry firearms at nine recruitment centers across the state.
Mississippi Adjutant General, Major General Augustus Collins will carry out the order.
This comes after two military recruitment centers in Chattanooga were attacked last week, resulting in the death of four marines.
This order also directs the Mississippi National Guard to examine existing security policies and procedures at military facilities throughout Mississippi and identify any opportunities to enhance the security of those facilities.
The Mississippi National Guard consists of around 12,500 soldiers and airmen.
