JACKSON, MISS — The governor is expected to sign into law a bill today that could reduce the number of telemarketing calls to cellphone users.
The bill allows you to add your cell number to the Mississippi No Call List beginning on July 1, 2016. It takes about two months for that updated database to be distributed to telemarketers.
The Mississippi Public Service Commission keeps up with the No Call List.
“We are very pleased that Mississippi citizens will now be able to add their cellphone numbers to the No Call Registry. Consumers are tired of unsolicited phone calls and are ready for this relief. I plan to add my cellphone number on July 1.” said Central District Commissioner Cecil Brown.
