Gov. Tate Reeves has released his Fiscal Year 2025 executive budget recommendations, highlighting an agenda that he believes will benefit Mississippians across the state.
In a press release, Reeves expressed that the plan he has laid out will not only highlight but advance the progress Mississippi has made over the last four years. The Republican governor cited over $20 billion in private sector investment, higher reading and math scores in elementary classrooms, and a record-low unemployment rate.
“It is on the heels of our unprecedented success in our state that I proudly share several of my priorities for Fiscal Year 2025,” Reeves said. “My objective this year is to keep our state’s momentum going – for all Mississippi.”
Reeves’ top priorities for FY2025 include:
- Eliminating the income tax
- Delivering a quality education while elevating parents’ voices
- Enhancing public safety for Mississippians
- Strengthening hospitals and improving the quality of healthcare
- Sustaining a culture of life
- Protecting women
