MERIDIAN, Miss. — A base is Meridian is home to some pretty important military operations.
And News Mississippi got to be a part of that Wednesday, going along on a flight where an air national guard plane refueled an F-16 Fighter Jet in mid-air. “So it gets down to about 2-3 feet from contact and when it’s stable, we use a telescoping label to extend the boom of the receptacle, explained Master Sgt. Joel Jones.
The refueling planes are parked at Key Field in Meridian. From there, they can carry as much as 30,000 gallons of fuel to all parts of the world.
