TUPELO, Miss. — Funeral arrangements have been set for a Tupelo police officer killed on Monday in the line of duty.
Cpl. Gale Stauffer was responding to a bank robbery call of a BancorpSouth branch when there was a shootout near crosstown in Tupelo and he was fatally hit.
Another police officer is still in critical condition and no one has been charged with the crimes yet.
Stauffer’s funeral will be at First United Methodist church in Tupelo at 11 a.m. on Friday and visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m, according to WTVA.
