Avery Underwood of Fulton was charged with the murder of his wife, Destiny Marie Underwood, on June 5, 2018.
On Tuesday morning, Underwood was taken into custody by the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department for the alleged murder of his wife.
When deputies arrived, a three-month-old-child was present as well as the victim, who seemed to have been strangled. Investigators believe that the crime took place at their home on Footney-Brown Road, north of Fulton, at approximately 5:00 a.m.
According to the Itawamba County Sheriff’s Department, the crime is still under investigation, and an autopsy will be performed on the body to determine the exact cause of death. Underwood is currently behind bars with no bond.
