JACKSON, Miss. — Mississippi public school teachers will get full paychecks in August, even if the school year starts later.
Governor Phil Bryant has signed a bill into law that requires school districts to pay all employees in equal monthly installments. It’s meant to solve problems that might be caused by an Attorney General’s opinion that said school districts would violate the state constitution by paying employees for work not yet done.
The bill became law as soon as the Governor signed it Monday.
