A fugitive out of the Mississippi Delta has been returned to the Magnolia State after being on the run for more than a decade.
Carroll County Sheriff Clint Walker confirms that Kelvin “Buck” Perry, 47, was brought back to Mississippi on Wednesday after being captured by police two states to the north. Authorities in St. Louis, Mo., arrested Perry on March 28.
Perry had been evading law enforcement for 13 years. The subject was out on bond relating to drug charges and skipped out on his scheduled court appearance in November 2010.
Court proceedings continued in Perry’s case despite his absence. He was convicted for his crimes and the judge sentenced him to spend a total of 78 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
Walker worked in collaboration with U.S. Marshals to track down Perry and bring him to justice.
