The son of an all-time great NFL running back has committed to Southern Miss.

One day after the beginning of the early signing period, 3-star RB Frank Gore Jr. has joined the Golden Eagles’ 2020 recruiting class.

Gore Jr. was originally committed to FAU, but the 5’8 170-pound RB out of Miami will now head to Hattiesburg for his collegiate career. He joins a USM recruiting class that currently ranks 3rd in C-USA, according to 24/7 Sports.

Gore Jr. also held offers from Kentucky, Chattanooga and FAU.

Gore Jr. is the son of Buffalo Bills RB Frank Gore, who recently moved into 3rd place on the NFL’s all-time rushing list. With a current total of 15,321 rushing yards, he is one of just four players in NFL history to surpass the 15,000-yard mark.
