A former Winona police officer has been indicted for supplying a fugitive with firearms.
Tanareika Juaniquar Jozet Williams, 25, was taken into custody by Carroll County deputies and U.S. Marshals at her residence near Blackhawk.
Williams is charged for aiding and abetting Tamarius Webster, a known fugitive, in the possession of and disposal of a gun following an investigation by agents with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as U.S. Marshals, and the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators found that Williams had also given her official police firearm to Webster. Court documents state that the gun was in and affecting interstate commerce.
The indictments are reported to derive from an incident in August 2022 where Williams asserted that she had been the victim of an attempted murder, kidnapping, and hostage situation.
Bond was set at $10,000 for the former officer. She has since bonded out and awaits a mid-December trial.
