After making a splash in his first season in the NBA, Toronto Raptors guard and former Ole Miss Rebel Terence Davis has been named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
The Southaven native bet on himself by turning down two-way deals on the night of the 2019 NBA Draft before parlaying a strong Summer Leauge performance in Vegas into a deal with the Raptors, where he became the team’s only player to appear in all 72 games this season.
Davis averaged 7.5 points, 3.3 rebounds & 1.6 assists per game and finished the season ranked fifth among rookies in three-point percentage at nearly 39% from beyond the arc. The Rebels’ 13th all-time leading scorer turned in 26 double-digit performances, including four 20-point performances.
The best outing of his rookie campaign came on February 2nd when he dropped 31 points against the Chicago Bulls.
Davis received 30 first-team votes, two more than Golden State’s Eric Paschall who ended up on the first-team due to total points.
