Days after requesting a trade from the Seattle Seahawks, former Ole Miss wide receiver DK Metcalf has found a new home with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
As reported by the NFL Network, Metcalf’s trade to the Steel City will become official when the new league year begins Wednesday. The veteran wideout and Pittsburgh have also agreed to a five-year, $150 million extension that will go into effect upon Metcalf’s arrival.
Pittsburgh will send a 2025 second-round pick to Seattle, and the teams will swap late-round draft picks as part of the deal.
DK Metcalf wanted a fresh start, a new contract and — most important — a chance to win.
He did not, according to his representation, say anything about playing in a warm climate. Metcalf is all-in on playing in Pittsburgh and the rugged AFC North. https://t.co/FCvNR8Fk0U

Metcalf, selected in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by Seattle, has become one of the top receiving targets in the entire league. Across his first six seasons, Metcalf is 12th overall in receiving yards (6,324) while grabbing 48 touchdowns. He’s a two-time Pro Bowler and was named an All-Pro in 2020.
Before three seasons at Ole Miss, Metcalf played at Oxford High School. He will reunite with former Seattle quarterback Russell Wilson in Pittsburg. The two played together from 2019-22.
