Coming off his third career Super Bowl win, former Mississippi State star Chris Jones has announced that he plans to re-sign with the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason.
During the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade on Wednesday, Jones took the stage and told fans that he wants to help the franchise become the first in history to win three consecutive championships.
“I need three of those things, baby. We ain’t done yet. We ain’t done yet. Kansas City, we will be back here next year,” Jones exclaimed. “And for those who want Chris Jones gone, I ain’t going nowhere baby.”

Jones, who had four tackles during the Chiefs’ 25-22 Super Bowl LVIII win over the San Francisco 49ers, played a much bigger role in the game than what the stat sheet showed. Constantly in quarterback Brock Purdy’s face, the defensive tackle was a huge reason the 49ers couldn’t capitalize on opportunities to separate after a first-half lead.
In eight years in the NFL – all of which have been with the Chiefs – the Houston, Miss., native has solidified himself as one of the league’s best interior defensive linemen, being named a Pro Bowler five times. He played the 2023-24 season on a one-year contract.
