Mississippi State and Ole Miss were well-represented on the Associated Press 2024 All-Pro Team, released Friday afternoon.
Representing the Bulldogs were Kansas City Chiefs interior defensive lineman Chris Jones, New Orleans Saints special teamer J.T. Gray, and Jacksonville Jaguars punter Logan Cooke.
Jones cracked the roster for the sixth year in a row, landing on this season’s first team. A presence in the trenches, Jones has been a success in Kansas City’s 2024 run defense with 37 tackles, five sacks, and one forced fumble.
Gray was named to the second team as a special teamer for his first selection since 2021. The defensive back by trade has 25 tackles and one forced fumble with a majority of his production coming on special teams.
Cooke punted his way onto the second team with an average of 49.4 yards across 68 kicks. Cooke’s bread and butter this season has been pinning opposing teams inside the 20-yard line with 34 of his punts doing just that. His long is 73 yards, coming against the Green Bay Packers on Oct. 27.
Representing the Rebels was Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown. Brown earned a second-team nod for the third season in a row with a 13-game stat line boasting 1,079 yards with 17 touchdowns. His 17.1 yards per catch is one of the best in the NFL.
The AP’s 2024 NFL All-Pro Team was selected by a national panel of 50 media members. The full list of selections can be found here.
