Maxwell was appointed director of MBN in 2020 and has since worked to combat fentanyl trafficking and overdoses in the Magnolia State. The former director was also present during Mississippi State University’s announcement on Monday that the college is partnering with the State Attorney General’s Office in promoting the One Pill Can Kill campaign on campus.
In the interim, Major Phillip Pope will take over daily operations at the MBN until a replacement is appointed to the position.
