A former Mississippi Gulf Coast church worship leader and real estate agent faces up to 30 years in prison for producing child pornography.
According to court documents, Tyler Selby, 34, was identified when authorities in the United Kingdom recovered a video sent from a social media user in the United States. Federal law enforcement identified Selby as the person who transmitted the footage of an adult male and a minor child engaging in sexually explicit conduct.
It was discovered that Selby used a young boy in his legal custody to record the obscene video at a home in Jackson County. Chat logs related to the video showed that Selby knew the video would be transported and transmitted in interstate and foreign commerce through the internet, using a live streaming platform. He later fessed up to committing the crime.
According to the Baptist Press, Selby served as a music minister at Robinwood Baptist Church in Saucier, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Ocean Springs, Central Baptist Church in McComb, and Lemoyne Boulevard Baptist Church in Biloxi.
He is scheduled to be sentenced on March 6, 2025. The case against Selby was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations with assistance from the United Kingdom West Yorkshire Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrea Jones is prosecuting the case.
