A former Booneville High School basketball coach has been indicted on child sex crime allegations.
Kenny Geno, 28, was taken into custody on Tuesday and booked into the Lafayette County jail on two charges.
Court records allege that on April 1, 2022, Geno coerced a minor into engaging in sexually explicit conduct “for the purpose of producing any visual depiction of such conduct knowing and having reason to know that such visual depiction would be transported.”
From January 1 until September 1, 2023, Geno is alleged to have had sexual activity with a different minor.
According to WTVA, Geno was a part-time assistant coach at his alma mater until earlier this month. He helped coach the boys’ and girls’ teams to state championships in 2022.
Prior to returning to Booneville, Geno played college basketball at the University of Georgia, where he averaged 11.7 minutes and 1.8 points per game over four years.
