At this point, there’s a good chance you’ve seen the viral video of social media influencer Ashton Hall’s peculiar morning routine — one that features him rubbing a banana peel on his face, soaking his face in bottled water poured over ice, and garnering an impressive air time when jumping into a swimming pool.
But did you know the man featured in the video once played college football in the Magnolia State? Well, now you do.

Hall, an online fitness coach who currently spends his days in the Miami area posting his disciplined (and lengthy) workout routines on an Instagram account with over 9 million followers, once suited up for Alcorn State as a running back. The Jacksonville native was a member of the Braves in 2014-15, two seasons in which then-head coach Jay Hopson led the team to back-to-back SWAC Championship victories.
Though Hall didn’t have a ton of success on the gridiron, as he only earned eight yards on six carries in his two-year stint in Lorman, he has made quite a name for himself on social media.
Hall’s notorious video has generated roughly one billion views across all major platforms and has even prompted humorous responses from others.

Hall’s intended purpose for these videos is likely not to create content for other entities. However, he is certainly the current talk of the town across the wild, wild west that is social media.
