Just over a week after a collection of tornadoes and severe thunderstorms killed three Mississippians and injured seven more, forecasters are warning of another cluster of dangerous storms that could start as soon as Wednesday.
A “marginal” risk, the lowest classification for severe weather, for isolated severe storms begins Wednesday at 9 p.m. The threat covers mostly central and northern Mississippi, with risk expected to dissipate around noon Thursday.
A more significant weather threat is forecasted to cover the weekend, with an “enhanced” threat for severe storms, damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes starting 5 p.m. Friday and running through 6 a.m. Saturday.
The final window of potential severe weather is expected to be 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, with an “enhanced” risk of severe storms, possibly strong tornadoes, and more covering most of the state.
