JACKSON, Miss – The Mississippi State Department of Health is giving out free tetanus vaccinations in places that have been impacted by recent flooding.
Flood waters are saturated with bacteria. If you were to cut or puncture the skin and then come in contact with floodwaters or things damaged by floodwaters, you could open yourself up to infection.
The following county health departments will issue free tetanus vaccinations:
