The First Lady will visit Mississippi’s capital city tomorrow afternoon.
As part of the administration’s outreach efforts, Dr. Jill Biden will travel to Mississippi tomorrow afternoon (June 22nd) to encourage everyone to get vaccinated against COVID-19. The itinerary released by the White House indicates that Biden will arrive at Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport around 2 p.m. From there, she will join Congressman Bennie Thompson and Mayor Chokwe Lumumba for a tour of the Jackson State vaccination site at 2:45 p.m.
“These trips are part of the administration’s nationwide tour to reach millions of Americans who still need protection against the virus, highlight the ease of getting vaccinated, and mobilize grassroots vaccine education and outreach efforts,” the White House announcement says.
Currently, Mississippi ranks last with around 35% of its population having been fully vaccinated.
