JACKSON, Miss. — You are going to want to pull out the heavy fabrics Tuesday. By then a cold front will push through the state. “It will bring the coldest air that we’ve seen this season,” said National Weather Service Meteorologist Daniel Lamb.
Tuesday morning, temps will start out in the 40s, but will drop to the 30s by the afternoon. “And then into the overnight we will have temperatures falling into the mid and upper 20s,” he said.
A free warning has already been issued for parts of the state, including areas all the way down to Hattiesburg and Natchez.
And while Lamb said it is time for the state to get its first seasonal freeze, it is certainly going to be a lot colder than normal.
