PASCAGOULA, Miss.–An early morning fire at the Chevron refinery in Pascagoula has killed someone. Authorities and Chevron had not said who that was as of Friday morning.
News Mississippi affiliate WOSM reported the fire happened about 2 a.m. Friday and was put out.
The community was not in danger, reported the station.
Chevron released this statement:
“The Chevron Pascagoula Refinery experienced a fire at one of its processing units at approximately 2 a.m. this (Friday) morning. Refinery teams have responded to the emergency, and the site is secure. There is no danger to the community. We will provide more information as it becomes available.”
