TISHOMINGO COUNTY, MISS– When the morning crew arrived at Mississippi Silicon this morning a fire had started around 5am.
County and volunteer firefighters worked to get the fire under control. Backup was called from surrounding areas, but the flames were contained.
Investigators don’t know exactly what started the fire this morning. There were workers there when the fire started, but no one was hurt.
Mississippi Silicon started building in Tishomingo County in 2014. That project restarted silicon metal production in the state for the first time in 40 years.
