As college baseball’s regular season is coming to a close, the finalists for the 2024 Ferriss Trophy have been announced.
Chosen by Major League Baseball scouts and college baseball coaches in Mississippi, the five finalists for the trophy presented to the state’s top college player each year includes players from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Belhaven, and William Carey.

The winner of the Ferriss Trophy, which is named after the late Mississippi State and Boston Red Sox great Dave “Boo” Ferriss, will be announced on Monday, May 20 during a ceremony at the Golden Moon Casino at Pearl River Resort.
The luncheon is open to the public, but tickets must be purchased in advance by clicking here or by calling the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame & Museum at (601)982-8264. Former Southern Miss head coach Scott Berry will be the keynote speaker at the event.
