PARCHMAN, Miss.–A fight with another inmate is how Willie Wallace of Lowndes County died Tuesday night at the emergency at the Mississippi State Prison at Parchman. The Miss. Dept. of Corrections said its investigators are trying to find out just what happened.
Wallace was pronounced dead shortly after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday, following the fight. The nature of his wounds was not being discussed.
Corrections said that an autopsy was being done at the state crime lab.
Wallace was doing 14 years for burglary and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Corrections did not release the name of the person they believe killed him and no charges had been filed as of Wednesday.
