MOBILE, Ala. — A father is facing either life in prison, or the death penalty for killing his two children and burying them in Mississippi and Alabama.
John DeBlase, 31, was convicted of capital murder Wednesday in the deaths of his 4-year-old daughter Natalie and 3-year-old son Chase. DeBlase had said his common-law wife Heather Keaton killed the children with her harsh discipline tactics. But prosecutors argued that DeBlase likely killed them to end their suffering. DeBlase is expected to be sentenced either Thursday or Friday.
Keaton is also facing charges and will be tried later.
