It’s officially here. Disco funk junkies from all over will be flocking to Gautier on Friday night to witness the inaugural concert at The Sound Amphitheater.
Headlining the performance will be KC and The Sunshine Band bringing their greatest hits including “Get Down Tonight,” “That’s The Way (I Like It),” and “Boogie Shoes” for the audience to jive along with, and fans are excited.
Thomas Gray, a resident of Ridgeland, is thrilled that the new venue on the Coast has come to fruition and plans to visit often for weekend getaways. He and family members will also be in attendance for the debut performance.
“We have been to the Brandon Amphitheater several times and are excited to see what The Sound has to offer,” Gray said. “We’ve put on our ‘boogie shoes’ and we’re going to get down tonight.”
The Sound is an $8 million venue that was constructed as part of Gautier’s larger Town Commons Project. With a capacity of over 8,000, the amphitheater space is expected to host some of the nation’s top touring acts in all genres.
According to The Sound’s website, they’ve already booked out the following additional 2024 dates:
- April 19: Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit with North Mississippi Allstars
- May 24: Justin Moore with Chris Cagle
- September 6: Sam Hunt
- September 27: Miranda Lambert
- September 28: Melissa Etheridge and Jewel
Officials with the venue plan to make The Sound different from other venues by offering an exceptional backstage environment with well-appointed dressing rooms, green rooms, promotion and tour offices, a catering kitchen, and other features intended to attract top national artists.
