The votes are in, and the Mississippi Mud Monsters officially have a face of the franchise.
On Tuesday, the Frontier League club in Pearl announced that, out of six options, “Fish” was the fan vote to be the name of the mascot that was unveiled in March. “Fish” beat out “Muddy,” “Mo,” “Sludge,” “Chomps,” and “Bubba” to be the hype man at Trustmark Park when the Mud Monsters make their debut.

“He’s been lurking in the Mud Monsters’ front office. Hiding behind merch boxes. Practicing dance moves by the breakroom fridge. Sneaking glances at the giant logo … dreaming of the big leagues,” a social media post from the team reads. “Today, the door creaks open. And something walks out. You’ve been warned.”
